For the IRIS ratio 5 calc: 2-Yr Overall Operating Ratio = 2 Yr UW Loss Ratio + 2 Yr UW Expense Ratio - 2 Yr Investment Income Ratio

Here the 2 Yr Investment Gain = 2 Yr Investment Income + 2 Yr Net Realized Capital Gains; but there is no information about the Net Realized Capital Gains, so shouldn't we explicitly make an assumption here that Net Realized Capital Gains = 0?

What am I missing in the Investment Income calc?

  • "2 Yr Investment Income Ratio" uses investment income, not investment gain. NRCG does not enter into it.
